In September, I embarked on an incredible journey across Ireland, a country known for its rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality. During my travels, I covered over 1600 miles, stopping in several cities, towns, and scenic locations that left me in awe. Starting from Cork, I made my way through Dublin, Belfast, Newry, and other picturesque areas, discovering both well-known and hidden gems along the way.

My trip began in Cork, a vibrant city filled with rich culture and stunning architecture. From there, I ventured to Dublin, where I stayed in two distinct hotels: the Donnington Hotel and St Helens Hotel, part of the Radisson Group. Both offered excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, but it was the history and beauty of the city that captivated me the most. Dublin’s mix of old-world charm and modern energy makes it a city worth visiting time and again. I explored iconic spots such as St. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street, and even took a stroll through Dun Laoghaire Harbour, known for its magnificent pier and stunning coastal views.

One of my favorite stops was Newry, where I visited Bernish Viewpoint. It was here that I witnessed one of the most breathtaking landscapes Ireland has to offer, with the stunning Craigmore Viaduct as the backdrop. The viaduct, with its towering arches, is an engineering marvel dating back to 1852, part of the Belfast-Dublin railway line. The peaceful serenity of Bernish Viewpoint, combined with the historical significance of the viaduct, created an unforgettable moment during my travels.

As I traveled, I also visited Fathom in Newry, which led me to another beautiful area known for its peaceful and scenic surroundings. The entire trip through Ireland felt like a series of breathtaking postcards brought to life, from the rolling green hills to the historical landmarks scattered across the countryside.

On the way to Belfast, I passed through Killoteran, Woodstown, and encountered something unique — a wooden sculpture of a lady, seemingly laying down in the landscape, blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. This piece of art was both unexpected and enchanting, showcasing the blend of culture and creativity that can be found in even the most remote parts of Ireland.

While in Belfast, I was struck by the mix of modern urban life and the lingering reminders of the city’s storied past. The Titanic Quarter, with its sleek, modern architecture, sits in contrast to the historical buildings that tell the story of Belfast’s industrial roots. The people I met in Belfast, like everywhere else in Ireland, were incredibly welcoming and eager to share their stories.

One thing that stood out to me throughout the trip was the kindness and hospitality of the people I encountered. From the helpful hotel staff to the locals I met at various stops, everyone made me feel welcome and part of the community, which made the trip all the more special.

Another highlight was my time at Georges Street Upper and Scotsman Bay. Both places offered a unique glimpse into Ireland’s coastal charm, with their stunning sea views and calm, inviting waters. Scotsman Bay, in particular, is known for its tranquil beauty, providing the perfect spot for relaxation and reflection.

This journey across Ireland was more than just a sightseeing adventure. It was a chance to immerse myself in the country’s rich history, to explore places I had only read about, and to connect with people whose kindness left a lasting impression. As I drove through the scenic roads, with the open landscape stretching before me, I felt a deep appreciation for Ireland’s timeless beauty and the stories it holds within its rolling hills and bustling cities.

For anyone considering a trip to Ireland, I highly recommend visiting these areas: from the historical charm of Dublin and Cork to the natural beauty of Bernish Viewpoint and Scotsman Bay. Each place offers its own unique experience, and together, they form the essence of what makes Ireland such a magical destination.
